A good brother-man Paul W., sent me a text that read:
“If you want to see who your tribe is,
Speak your truth and see who sticks around.
____
That is your tribe.”
Are you greeted with a warm smile?
Are your colleagues available when you need help?
Can you speak your truth without prejudice, judgement or obfuscation?
Can they be your Human Decoder for others?
Do they share their life, their experiences, their struggle?
Do they Invite you to a meal, home, bring you back something unsolicited?
Do they listen genuinely and allow for breath to manifest between the silence?
Do you feel a level of joy and happiness arriving into work, seeing these folks with whom you work with?
Are you growing there being stretched professionally with unbounded opportunity to learn?
Do we think greatly about place and home in a professional world?
Choice to be a part or be apart is the very first movement in making good change for the tribe one is destined for.
