The most important question we may offer
To heal a wound so deep
A soft, gentle touch
To hear a wavering voice in need of sleep
A refrain from the noise of sameness
A quietude of deafening proportions of too much
To remind them of them
Show them, less so, tell them
With them, less so, lead them
Asking,
How May I Help?
Presence presents the threshold into the beautiful immediacy of the unknown. It is the gateway to a healthy and limitless pathway to find freedom from pain and discomfort, from suffering.
When we cross this threshold, when we commit, fate and destiny conspire to support us.

”We are never alone as in our beginnings as it might seem at the time. A beginning is ultimately an invitation to open toward the gifts and growth that are stored up for us all. To refuse to begin can be an act of great self-neglect.” j o’d
John O ‘Donohue1 continues in his book of Blessings that we are in an endless stream of beginnings and that we enter upon ourselves already begun. The fear that we must face is the uncertainty and unknown once stepping across the threshold. To leave a well worn pathway requires an ever-ongoing conscious awareness to these beginnings.
This is Presence.
This is the ground and substance to which we are allowing ourselves to become more familiar with our unconscious rituals of thought, word and actions that have defined our personal world up unto this point: How we derive meaning in who we are and have been.
He goes on to say that, “risk may be our greatest ally.” That beginnings precede us and create us to only bring us to new beginnings, if we choose to risk letting go of the un-necessary weight of fear. The harvest is reaped when we allow ourselves to transition one’s life into continual renewal: “Act’s of beginnings.”
When we are seeing our patients and clients with long months and protracted years of suffering with their debilitating conditions we invariably perceive within them a loss of beginnings and that of any possibility for wholeness for healing.
In the connections of building a meditation practice for our clients and for ourselves we add in ingredient’s to catalyze and catapult one into the trajectory of health and healing. Three techniques that bring our Presence to everyday life. Shifting, Calming and Embodying. (see below)
The Heart speaks to the brain2 through the Vagus Nerve ( >80% Sensory ( sensing) fibers)) primarily with information gathered from the “neurites” bound within the heart tissue. This is a center of intelligence of thought and memory. It is a wave form created in context to our moments of experiencing. It resides here as well. The Heart-Mind connection ( Shen ) is crucial to Intuition, our own innate clairvoyance manifests from an instantaneous un-adulterated-ego-less state. It is the heart-space of intuition.
When we are suffering there is a disconnection and incoherence in the heart and mind. These emotional states of history, of the past are re-charged and are awakened within the body. These once quiescent nodes become unfrozen and express the un metabolized, unhealed remnants of being othered, being unseen, unheard.
The Brain will release its chemistry ( NE, E, Cortisol)3 to mobilize the body for moving away from incoherence ( fight, flight, freeze). Under normal circumstances, our nervous system will reset and reaffirm mobility without fear or anxiety. As our animal teachers Taoist ways show us threat detection -nervous excitement action leads to resolution, refraction and reset. This base layer of our triune brain4 ( three part brain) is most primitive and reflexive for conservation and safe keeping. This simplistic explanation is fundamental understanding in healing for our patients and client.
It is necessary to bring this conversation to the floor, to the table when there is a well established rapport and understanding being built on this quantum model of healing.
Clinical Pearl
Here is the simple-profound-life changing technique for moving in the realm of healing one’s pain and suffering.
Shift Awareness from the Mind to the Heart by placing your hand physically on your heart, either palm/prayer/mudra style, touching the sternum (heart)
Calm the Nervous System by slowing the breath into a non vigilant and spacious state. 5 seconds in, 5 seconds out.
Embody it by Feeling the Feeling that Brings Coherence by stating your Appreciation, Gratitude, Care and Compassion for someone, something, some situation, for the self. See the future experience we wish. Say it quietly, speak it out loud. Use all your special senses to re-mind your body of the future feeling to exist in.
3 to 5 minutes of consistent daily practice to build the neural pathways-livewiring to hardwiring for a new reality, new personality
See it feel it hear it.
practice practice practice
What we embody, we become.
Lead with Love, Always
May we use the most current cutting edge neurosciences-quantum reality in health and healing.
To Bless the Space Between Us by John O’Donohue
Greg Braden and Brain and Heart Coherence.
Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Cortisol are the bodies neurochemistry for the Stress Response
Triune is an old term still relevant to describe the deepest to highest levels of our brainy architecture that being the (1) unconscious automatic reptilian brain, (2) the meso-limbic feeling brain and (3) the Cortical thinking, executive decision making brain.
