In my early days of PT it was common understanding that OA (osteoarthritis) was a non-inflammatory wear and tear process over a lifetime of activity. There was nothing you could do if it had advanced. A Cause of Metabolic Inflammation Thank an Oil Tycoon
Seed Oils, in particular Rape Seed Oil (Canola or Canadian Oil) were introduced into the food chain at the turn of the 20th century. John D. Rockerfeller in his infinite wisdom for capitalism re-created these lubricating oils from his petroleum dynasty and supplied the nation a new cooking oil.
This 19th century lubricant became the 20th century “Heart Healthy” Oil.
Today we now know this is an unfortunate myth that is found on the American Heart Associations webpage is unfortunately not true nor factual, yet continues to be promoted by Mainstream Medicine.
They are not meant for human consumption if one is interested in Optimal Metabolic Health and Flexibility.
In order to make Canola oil “consumable” it has to be bred to lower the levels of Erucic acid, a toxic fatty acid that is strongly associated with lesions in the heart and vascular wall. (WHAT?)
The seeds are ground at very high temperatures to extract the oil which oxidizes this oil. The oil needs to be washed in HEXANE, a NEUROTOXIN, bleached and deodorized in a chemical bath of solvents so that it does not smell rancid ( Because it is ).
The end product that lands on your grocery store shelves faced right at your eye level is oxidized and laden with chemical solvents and now contains trans fatty acids.
Rape oil was a lubricant and used as heating oil,lighting lanterns created by John D Rockerfeller, some say the Father of Today's Modern CENTRALIZED, Allopathic Biopharmaceutical Hospital Based Medicine.
Back in the Day
When I was a youngster growing up in the 60’s and 70’s 2 in 20 kids were Chubby ( overweight ). It was rare to see two or three kids side by side who were obese. A hundred years ago obesity was written up as a case study, found in carnival sideshows.
Based on CDC4 metrics (if you will),
4 in 10 adults 20 years and older are Obese. ! ( based on BMI)
Greater than 10% are morbidly obese!
Greater than 70% of our nation is overweight!
Greater than 75% of our nation is unfit for Duty FOR MILITARY!
54% of our children chronically ill with HTN, Cardiovascular disease, Diabetes, Cancer, Asthma, Dermatitis, arthritis, dermatitis, GI dysbiosis, Food allergies, Hearing, Vision problems, ADHD and Poor cognitive function to name just a few. A very important though less talked about in linking nutrition to metabolic flexibility is mental illness/sadness/depression/social anxious anxiety syndromes!!!

The benefits of these notions of philosophical understandings is nurtured in the health of our bones, joints, muscles and nervous system which when optimally intact will lead to health and healing and elimination of leading chronic conditions. It is nurturing being complete, working to wholeness in our spiritual, mental, emotional and physical pathways. We cannot slice life up and partition one outside the other…
I am a strong believer in the necessity to eat impeccably well and whole for this reason and why it is a must as part of the plan and goal setting if you will, in care and stewardship of another. Doing this makes the energetics of your world more clarified and whole, yes?

Nutritional and Lifestyle Information for your patients
Go through your cabinets and Dump all these oils and begin to eliminate any processed foods you eat and eliminate them (especially if you are dealing with a chronic illness.) This a way to heal yourself naturally and removing yourself from dependency on Biopharmaceuticals. If you are wanting to choose this pathway I recommend seeing a Functional and or Integrative Medical Professional on these needs not a traditional, standard allopathic MD. They do not receive any nutritional sciences coursework in Medical School that is relevant to natures greats and bountiful gifts.

Stop Conventional purchasing. Going with Grocery Co-ops, local farmers markets searching for organic products and eating in season is the better rhythmic manner we align to the seasonality of our regulatory system in concert with nature. It is not normal to eat strawberries all year long.
Find a local Butcher for organic and grassfed, grass finished hooved animal products, rabbit, duck, beef, lamb if you will. I predominantly cook with ghee and beef fat/tallow.
Try your hand at making Grassfed Ghee (clarified butter) and create a life where time for cooking is centered for self and others.

Read all the ingredients and offer to your patients and clients to pick up an app like these for your ‘smart” phone that scans items and gives a rating, ingredient contents, and whether it is genetically engineered foods, etc…
**One Note on these Apps is that They may have lower ratings because of higher fat content… Generally you can disregard this as we now know today that Healthy fats of old are the New healthy fats of today, Butter, animal fats especially Beef fat/tallow as an example.
Lastly, enjoy food, slow cooking and slow eating with naturally occurring conversations are best for digestion and well being.
